Artesa Winery Introduces “The Art of Artesa” Special Showcase of the 2005 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
March 13, 2008
On Thursday, March 6th, Artesa Winery demonstrated their focus on artful winemaking in an interactive seminar and tasting at The Glasshouses - an ultra-modern space in the dynamic new Chelsea Arts Tower.
The winery’s artistic legacy was illustrated in a discussion of its environmentally conscious approach through architecture, in the vineyards, and through its artist-in-residence program. Demonstrating the “art of the blend,” new Winemaker Dave Dobson led participants in tasting five components from vineyards across the Napa Valley before setting them loose for an eye-opening experience of blending their own wine, where they discovered that an addition of even the smallest component can make a big difference in a final product. Afterwards,, guests were whisked upstairs into a vibrant gallery of nature-inspired art from by Artist-in-Residence Gordon Huether where they enjoyed a California-style lunch with the star of the afternoon – the Artesa Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 - Dave Dobson’s first Cabernet for Artesa.
